Alright so the new PJ Harvey has got 4 outta 5 stars everywhere and more. Still I find it feckin turd. It's basically White Chalk without the hooks. Anyone with me? I played Meet Ze Monsta instead, to remind me of the times she still ROCKED.

Thought it was massively disappointing on first listen
I’ll give it another spin but woah. What the hell happened!

A bit similar to new Blur tbh, at least on first listen. Both aren't bad and at this point it's not like they have anything to prove (and might even succeed on what they're actually trying to do) but too subtle anyway. Opinions on Darren?

It’s rubbish.
Worse than Dwayne.

I quite like the Blur record. Though it feels like a Damon solo record, there's not enough of Coxon's personally sprinkled in there for my liking.

I thought it was entirely fine. Not necessarily good, but…fine. And that Russian strings song needs a Scott Walker co-writing credit.

Rado from Foxygen has produced this unabashedly Britpop pastiche, but I find it charming

Having a deep dive into The Nationals latest album. I wasn't sure on it at first but I am really loving it. I think the work with Taylor Swift really rubbed me the wrong way but I can't deny they make good music.

Barbaric, Narcissist and St Charles have quite grown on me, even if I guess they're still lesser than their past equivalents. Thing is I love a good Damon ballad but the record is filled with songs that are really not very special (which is the nonSOMETHING word I'm looking for?).
Also new Dexys was fun on 1st listen

Glad to see another positive view of the new dexys. Yeah it's cheesey but I love it. Rowland brings the sex!

A bit pleased but surprised for the reception of the new Hives record, even if I find it by numbers and far from their best. A band which used to be considered gimmicky and never got the recognition they deserved back then, besides their live show.

It’s certainly not their best but definitely their best since tyrannosaurs hives. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
