The Killers are eyeing a 2023 release as well. Haven't we had enough bad news lately? The last two albums haven't been bad at all. The few before Sam's Town was the shits. I am holding out hope they continue the upward trend.

Iggy Pop out today. First big release of 2023 since Eddie Murphy's new year's day wank. Had a listen? What do you think? Trying it now, first track sounds nice and loud and scuzzy.

It's a good fun hard rock album. the lyrics are unbelievably shit, the songs are predictable, but I blasted it 4 times in a row this morning & I'm having this. I mean, that one he did the other year with the wife beater Josh Home and random arctic monkey was genuinely really good, this is just disposable fun and I'm down with that. Some of those lyrics though Best I've heard since 'avin it large!

Just listened to that Iggy Pop album. Fucking hell.
It won't be troubling my end of year list that's for sure.

Really enjoying the Gaz Coombes album on first listen. Never been too arsed by his solo stuff before but this has instantly got me.

I'm looking forward to getting into the James Yorkston/Nina Persson record. Their last one was utterly gorgeous.
Until recently I'd never given James Yorkston any time, just assuming that as he was called James he'd be filed alongside James Morrison and James Blunt. But the things he did with Suhail Yusuf Khan and Jon Thorne were fantastic.
It used to be that James meant you were automatically cool- James Brown, James Bond, James Joyce, James II of England, me.
But in the days of Morrison, Blunt and Corden it's a tricky name to carry off.
