More interested in Blackhole and III/IV to be honest
Probably because Cardinology was just plain wank though

It's all very good news but it'd be nice if it HURRIED UP a bit. And why is everyone wanking over this new Laura Marling album? bah.

It's really good Andy, not sure if I prefer it to her debut but both her albums are better than anything Ryan has released in recent years.

I'll give it a couple more shots but it just sounds so boring. Whereas her first album had nice guitar hooks and vocal melodies, this one is stuck up and samey.

some replies Ryan has made to people on facebook in recent months, some of it is quite interesting & has made me very excited to hear new material. Also, I forgot about that 'France' tune, that was the bollocks @lisa... never Fear I am reissuing a regular release of Orion as well. Three full Pax-Am releases before year's end is my goal. New record next year. Then we will see about some dates. I haven't yet ruled out some solo stuff for the fall though. I am working through some issues with my dizzy spells and stuff- building strength. I'll be round the corner in no time.
craig... yes. I have a major distributor now so it will be no different than working with a major except that they won't be keeping a bunch of $$$ and telling me what to do... which works out nice.
@all.... thanks for the kind words. I am really working hard to make all this stuff sound, look and be all it can. I really want to get back to work as soon as I am healthy. Much love. DRA
@ben ... I will NEVER understand how that got labelled "France" I mean, wha??? I think perhaps I was in France when I posted it or something... anyway.. it's on III/IV.
@dominic... feelin the love and shinin it back friend : )
@enola... I will let anybody know about touring as soon as I know/ decide... and yes. I have about 30 songs. I like all of the but about 9 of them feel like they could be on a classic record ( to me anyway ) so I am going fishing for the rest. It's an awesome journey and I feel like I have been given a rare opportunity to do this- my dizziness and the ringing has been mellow and I'v been finding my way through... that's the new trick.. finding nor fighting my way through. Hope you are great. How's it going?
@robbie...it is the most ME sounding stuff yet. There is no BS just raw and real songs and everything has to work 100 percent on acoustic guitar first... no jam- based half assed songs and no riffing on stuff with my own twist like "anybody wanna take me home"/smiths- like referencing... just me making my music stripped down and raw and songs about real shit. I am removing the layers of musical bullshit from my musical house and they were so deep I dunno what color my musical house even was. but that shit is coming off. capo 3rd fret/ guild/ no bullshit. tunes. It feels great. Also no more Aerosmith guitar arrangements ( no dis to the ASmith) just sayin... what is rad is- doing things this way- when it is time for me to fucking get my electric guitar Peanut out and play- it just really happens- it really works and feels great. I am not dissing my old stuff but I am just saying that It feels good spending the time and making the effort being 100 percent on this stuff. At least I know if people talk shit about it i will know where I stand- I will know what it really is to me. Also it will be great to have built something this strong from a place where I was ill.
@ornella... it loves you back : )
@paul... yes. If I do a solo tour it will be in the fall and it will probably be near there- I want to go to stockholm and paris and little towns in england like sheffield and leicester and i want to go back to cork ireland and i miss Scotland a lot... I want to play those places again but I want to play solo- just by myself. i am not so sure people want to see that so we will have to see
replying to my question about if the NY and LA sessions were for the saem project:
dan...the New York sessions were really cool. It was more of a writing session with electric and acoutic guitar and my pal Johnny on drums. Heck even Graboff played bass one night for laughs. I love 4 of the songs. Tom Shick produced and we made somewhere in the ballpark of 20 tunes.... The LA sessions were me singing live paying acoustic and Chris Stills on second acoustic and Marshall on drums and Sebastian on bass and Marty on steel and Rami Jaffe on B3/Piano/Rhodes ( so really a whole band on the floor ) and we made 14 and they were ALL keepers and some of them were re-cuts or re-workings of the NYC stuff. I love about 8 or 9... my friends and peeps like them all but I like 8 or 9 so I want to go find the rest. I only overdubbed electric guitar later and sparingly. There are some really haunting vibes on this thing so far and I am surely finding my way back to myself and my own sense of writing. I love all the players and the vibes are really sweet. It has been a blast and very mellow. Of course California keeps it on the mellow in my experience.

Yeah really refreshing to hear himself say these things, for too long he's been imitating his idols which is all fine and dandy but Ryan Adams the songwriter is capable of making great Ryan Adams records which can comfortably stand up next to the people he's decided to imitate, Am hoping for another heartbreaker or a stripped down Gold, REAL RYAN SHIT.

This is some lovely news to be waking up to. Good to hear Lovely & Blue (The real name for 'France' innit?) will be getting a proper release, not heard it in an age. Just hope we get something before the end of the year.

Seems we'll get them old ones this year
Ryan Adams is to release a series of previously archived albums this autumn.
In a message to fans on his official Facebook page, Adams announced that both the new double Ryan Adams & The Cardinals LP, 'III/IV', and solo effort 'Blackhole' were "almost out of the oven".
"To anyone asking about 'III/IV' and 'Blackhole', they are almost out of the oven," he wrote. "You will have a chance to get them this fall. There will not be staggered pressings. Digital and vinyl, not limited copies."
Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter gave an update on another solo LP he is working on, which he says will be "ready next year".
"I've been working on a second batch of tunes," he explained. "Both sessions (NYC [New York] and LA [Los Angeles]) sound super cool but I feel like there is even more. Still working. I imagine the new solo LP will be ready next year."

I hope it's in the same vein as Heartbreaker. That's his best album IMO.
Oh shit, that better not mean his marriage woes with Mandy FUCKING Moore.

None of his records hold a candle to Heartbreaker tbh
Gold and Love Is Hell are top records if a bit bloated and sometimes tries a bit to hard.
I actually love 29 though
Lovely and Blue is a huge song. I collated all the ryan b-sides and bonus tracks recently and there are some right stinkers on there toward the end
